Fintech & Payments
Payment products that banks approve and merchants actually use.
I spent eight years building a payment ecosystem, from a whiteboard sketch to 500,000+ transactions a month. I help fintechs, payment companies and banks define, launch and grow wallets, merchant acquiring and payment links, with the bank, the card network and the regulator planned in from the start.

When I can help
Who this is for
You're launching a wallet or a merchant product.
You know the market, but not yet which features, partners and pricing the first version needs.
You're a bank adding a digital product.
A wallet, merchant services or a central bank digital currency offer, built within the regulator's rules and still better than what customers already have.
You're adding a new way to pay or entering a new market.
QR payments, payment links, Tap-to-Pay or online acquiring, in a market you already serve or a new one.
Your product needs payments built in.
A marketplace or platform that earns a commission per transaction needs payments inside the product, and partners to run them.
Your payment project has stalled.
The integration is late, a partner bank is slow, or the scope keeps growing.
Expertise
What I know from the inside
Payment products depend on more than good product work. Banks, card networks, regulators and distribution partners shape what you can launch and when. That is where I have spent the last eight years.
Merchant acquiring
In-store, online, QR codes, payment links, SoftPOS and Tap-to-Pay.
Online checkout
Payment gateways and 3-D Secure card checkout, for merchants with or without a website.
Wallets
Consumer wallets, cashback and value-added services, and a central bank digital currency wallet for a bank.
Merchant onboarding and distribution
Direct merchants, enterprise clients and white-label partners.
Partnerships
Banks, payment-infrastructure providers, card networks and regulators.
Market entry
Comparing routes into a new market and choosing a focused first offer.
Cases
Three payment launches, in numbers
Amber Pay · Caribbean
From concept to 500,000+ transactions a month
Small merchants were moving from cash to cards, many without a website. I led product from concept to market: eLink payment requests by WhatsApp, text or email, links, QR codes and 3-D Secure checkout, plus online stores, loyalty and fundraising.
- 500K+
- monthly transactions
- $500K+
- investment secured
- 100+
- integrations
- 500+
- merchants via a white-label partner
In payments, the platform, partnerships and route to the customer have to be designed together.
InstaPay · South Africa
From a won tender to a joint-venture payments brand
We won a tender for a digital payments platform with a local infrastructure partner. When the client did not proceed, we kept the product and launched it as InstaPay: a wallet, merchant acquiring, cashback and value-added services.
- 600,000+
- users migrated
- 500+
- merchants
- 30+
- bank and partner integrations
- 50/50
- joint venture
A client project that stalls can still become a product, launched with the right partner.
CBDC wallet · A leading Caribbean banking group
A central bank digital currency wallet that does better than the first launches
Banks had to offer the new central bank digital currency, and the first wallets fell short. I led product strategy, scope and roadmap with the bank, within the central bank's requirements.
- 3 years
- contract with the bank
- $30K
- monthly recurring licensing
In a regulated market where everyone must comply, the product experience is what sets you apart.
